Manual Balancing :
Flow Optimizer is a durable plastic insert that is
pressed into the discharge end of the ball. The parabolic
shape of the Flow Optimizer modifies valve characteristics
in such a way that the valve setting becomes simple and quick.
With ordinary type balance valves, the throttle characteristics
of the valve are such that from full open to 20% closed, ball
valves do not control flow; instead, the ball valve and flow
passage is literally wide open. From 70% to 100% closed, throttling
is extremely sensitive and difficult. The operator must manipulate
the valve handle repetitively to achieve the desired set point.
